Our Story
Who we are
Our mission is to spark awareness and adoption of clean transportation and electric vehicles with local visible community-based infrastructure projects, especially in Chicago's charging desert neighborhoods. We are a group of EV enthusiasts who can't charge near their home and want to see more EVs and clean transportation in Chicago, especially for those residents who could benefit from it the most!
The importance of equity in EV space
Community Charging knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. For transportation electrification to impact climate change, we need to make it accessible to everyone. We strive to create infrastructure in charging deserts to help create an equitable system of infrastructure and support access for everyone. Allowing equity to guide decisions of our organization helps us to do our part in scaling clean transportation, especially for those who can benefit from it most.
